Doug Carter

Doug is a new coach at MFJ this fall although not new to coaching Premier Club Soccer. Doug was the previous owner of PSG Lansing and co-owner of PSG Mid-Michigan and coached numerous teams for more than four years.

Doug has coached collegiate soccer since 1997. He just moved to Olivet College as the Women's Head Coach after 21 years at Northwood University where he was the Men's Head Coach from 2001-2017 and the Women's Head Coach from 1998-2010. During his time at NU, Doug was named the Great Lakes Region Coach of the Year and the GLIAC Conference Coach of the Year. He won two GLIAC conference championships with the men's program, most recently in 2017; and also won two tournament championships in 2014 and 2015. 


Doug played collegiate soccer for the University of Surrey in England. He started all three seasons and was team captain for two of those campaigns. He also played 11 seasons for the Civil Service Football Club in London. 

Doug graduated from the University of Surrey with a bachelor's of science (with honors) degree in psychology and sports studies. He and his wife, Kelly, have two sons, Liam and Ethan. Ethan is a player with MFJ. Doug has earned a USSF D license and FA Level 2 Certification (England Football Association).
